One-of-a Kind Features-The first thing many Henry fans will notice on this .308 Long Ranger is the custom high-polished nickel-plated receiver. This receiver finish was previously available only on the Henry Deluxe Engraved and Wildlife Edition Long Rangers.
The right side of the receiver features an engraving of a handsome Bull Elk in 24 carat gold. This is the first time an Elk has been featured on an Exhibition Edition rifle.
Centered under the ejection port and the eye-catching jeweled bolt on this rifle is the “2024 Exhibition Edition, name of state, “Two of Two” inscription, highlighted by scroll engraving.
The left side of the receiver features a prominent Henry logo with the popular and powerful “Made in America or Not Made at All” Henry slogan. The logo and slogan are surrounded by an impressive scroll border.
This Henry Long Ranger is equipped with a handsome custom jeweled bolt. Jeweling is a process where a mild abrasive is applied onto the bolt’s exterior to produce a swirled pattern. In addition to adding a classic beauty to the bolt, jewelling also has very practical advantages. Lubricants are held by the slight indentations created by the jewelling process and increase lubricity when cycling the action.
MORE ABOUT THE LONG RANGER: Henry developed their new Henry Long Ranger to stretch the envelope in a design that takes the hunt to the field in popular calibers at longer distances. The Long Ranger retains traditional lever action operation with an exposed hammer and forged steel lever but updates it with a geared action. A machined and chromed steel bolt with a 6-lug rotary head is driven into a rear extension of the barrel for a strong and consistent lock-up from shot to shot.
With side ejection and a lightweight aerospace alloy receiver, the Long Ranger is drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and the bottom features a steel-bodied flush-fit detachable magazine with 4-round capacity. All behind a 22″ blued free-floated sporter barrel. This H014S-.308 also comes with front and rear rifle sights.
The Exhibition-quality black walnut stock features precise laser-cut checkering, sling swivel studs, and a solid black rubber recoil pad for both recoil control and non-slip anchoring on the shoulder. Like Henry’s other centerfires, the Long Ranger carries on the in-hammer sliding transfer bar as a safety, instead of a manual safety button or slider that can be hard to operate with gloves.
